Sarah the VP Candidate, Channels Joe the McCarthy and George the Wallace

Earlier in an interview on the Fox News Show “Your World with Neil Cavuto”, McCain campaign prop and the new GOP mascot who calls himself “Joe the Plumber” (Sam the unlicensed plumber and tax cheat) is more like it, questioning the patriotism of Barack Obama. The GOP chair in Virgina who has in the past urged conservatives to go to the houses of undecided voters and tell them that Osama Bin Ladden and Barack Obama both had friends who attacked the Pentagon, has called former Secretary of State and Vietnam War veteran Colin Powell a coward (how much you want a bet this guy in Virgina had a draft deferment in Vietnam).

Now the McCain /Palin team has decided in a last ditch effort to use tactics reminiscent of Joe McCarthy, when Republican Vice Presidential Candidate Gov. Sarah Palin (R-Alaska)accused Obama of thinking terrorists are the “good guys”.

This is from the Huffington Post as Palin both practices McCarthyism, while extolling the virtues of freedom and equality.

“What do they think?” she declared at one point. “Do they think the terrorists have all the sudden become the good guys and changed their minds? No, the terrorists still seek to destroy America and her allies and all that it is that we stand for: freedom, tolerance, and equality. The terrorists have not changed their minds.”

I am telling you this woman has the demagoguery of George Wallace, the character defamation tactics of Joseph McCarthy, the brains of Brittany Spears, and the shopping expenses of Paris Hilton. If she is elected and you think Americans are perceived as callow and idiotic now with Bush/Cheney, wait until we get McCain and Palin in there. Just another reason to vote for Obama/Biden tomorrow.

Oh and note to McCain camp, you are trying the McCarthy tactics now as you have for the past three or four months and they haven’t worked. McCarthy’s tactics in the long run led to his down fall, and the way all indicators are pointing now, it seems like it will lead to yours in terms of a political career on the national scene.
