1869: Indian social activist, civil disobedience pioneer and human rights activist Mohandas Gandhi is born.

1919: Surreptitiously, behind the scenes America’s President Woodrow Wilson is afflicted by a stroke that leaves him partially paralyzed by a stroke, while traveling across the country in his campaign for the establishment of the League of Nation’s. the President’s condition would not be known to the public and would be kept secret by his wife Edith Wilson and Wilson’s doctor.

1924: Following the prevalent use of chemical and biological armaments in the “Great War”, member countries of the League of Nations outlaw the use of such weapons. However the manufacturing and storage of such agents was never addressed.

1935: In a move that would foreshadow the imperial ambitions of the axis powers, Italy under the governance of Benito Mussolini, invades Abyssina (also known as Ethopia).

1937: Samuel Caldwell becomes the first American arrested on criminal charges related to Marajuana, following the enactment of the “Marajuana stamp Act”.

1941: In World War II as Nazi Germany and her allies spread across Europe and much of the globe, they seek to launch a millitary offensive and gain further strength against Moscow.

1944: Efforts at the liberation are crushed within, when Nazi forces squelch the Warsaw Uprising within the Polish city.

1967: History on the bench, when former Appeals Court Justice and Solicitor General Thurgood Marshall takes the vow and is sworn in as the first African-American U.S Supreme Court Justice.
