1901: A bold and daring stunt is performed by Annie Edison Taylor who is armed with little more then risk and a barrel, when she becomes the first person to leap off and over Niagara Falls in a barrel.

1917: A revolution’s load roar will rattle the world and its tremors will be felt all throughout the twentieth Century, as the Bolshevik’s led by Marxist theorist Vladamir Lenin, begin their effort to seize power from the weak provincial Russian government, in what will be referred to as the October Revolution.

1926: Magician Harry Houdini, who mesmerized audiences with his feats of magic, performs his final magic show, on the stage of the Garrick Theater in Detroit,Michigan. He will die that same year only Halloween night.

1929: The hopes and prosperity of many are dashed, and the security of many others is put in jeopardy, when the stock market crashes on what is deemed “Black Thursday”, leading to the Great Depression.

1936: Musician Bill Wyman is born.

1945: An international organization known as the United Nations is established.

1947: Fears of Communism are ever prevalent, as Walt Disney appears before the House on Un-American Activities (HUAC), disclosing the identities of Disney employees he believes might be communists.

1954: The seeds for American involvement in the Vietnam War are sown, when U.S President Dwight D Eisenhower, agrees that the United States will support the anti-communist government of South Vietnam.

1973: Military combat between Israel and her Arab neighbors ends the Yom Kipur War.
