White House Press Secretary Dana Perino insists Bush has no memory of the CIA tapes being destroyed.
On the day that a story appeared in the New York Times, that a pair of tapes showing two enemy combatants facing harsh interrogation methods, the White House Press Secretary Dana Perino said President Bush has no recollection about the destruction of the tapes.
This despite claims from the Central Intelligence Agency that congressional leaders had been briefed about the tapes and their destruction in 2003.
Tapes of this sort had been requested by Judges in Federal court cases regarding treatment of detainees in 2005, as well as the 9/11 commission.
Congressional Democrats have voiced the desire for investigations into the matter.
MY TAKE: Doesn’t the President know anything before everyone else does? Guess the neoconservatives just let Bush ramble on while they tamper with evidence and leak the names of covert CIA agents. But then again why I am I not surprised? This administration believes that the laws are for the masses to adhere to, while they heed their own impulses and desires.
