Following his massive victory in Saturday’s South Carolina Democratic Primary, Senator Barrack Obama(D-Ill), has regained momentum after having come in second in several other contests that came after his initial early victory in the Iowa caucuses earlier this month.

Obama in the aftermath of his substantial victory has won a prized endorsement from Caroline Kennedy Schlosberg. The daughter of the late former U.S President John F. Kennedy has gone public in a New York Times Op-ed entitled A President Like My Father, where she has openly endorsed Obama.

New York Times:

My reasons are patriotic, political, and personal, and they are intertwined. All my life, people have told me that my father changed their lives, that they got involved in public service or politics because he asked them to. And the generation he inspired has passed that spirit on to its children. I meet young people who were born long after John F.Kennedy was President, yet who ask me how to live out his ideals.

Sometimes it takes awhile to recognize that someone has a special ability to get us to believe in ourselves, to tie that belief to our highest ideals, and imagine that together we can do great things. In these rare moments, when such a person comes along, we need to put aside our plans and reach for what we know is possible.

We have that kind of opportunity with Senator Obama. it isn’t that the other candidates aren’t experienced or knowledgeable. But this year, that may not be enough. We need change in the leadership of this country- just as we did in 1960.

Kennedy goes on throughout the piece to explain what she sees as so unique about Obama, emphasizing many of the same qualities he and his supporters are constantly heralding and say distinguish him from his two fellow contenders for the Democratic nomination.

Senator Obama is running a dignified and honest campaign. he has spoken eloquently about the role of faith in his life, and opened a window into his character in two compelling books. And when it comes to judgement, Barack Obama made the right call on the most important issue of our time by opposing the War in Iraq from the beginning.

Reports today also reveal that the younger brother of the late President and uncle to Caroline Kennedy Schlosberg Senator Edward. M. Kennedy will tomorrow officially support Obama, as his fellow U.S Senator from Massachusetts the 2004 Democratic Presidential Candidate Senator John Kerry (D-MA) and Governor Deval Patrick (D-MA) have also come out in support of Obama. Massachusetts is just one of many states, including California’s, New Jersey, Delaware, along with New York (the state where Obama main rival Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton resides and represents in the U.S Senate as well as Obama’s home state of Illinois, along with many others will hold primaries on February 5 to vote for the nominees of each party.
