The 2007 Academy Awards

In Films/Film stars, History on February 25, 2008 by Editor Z

Watched some of the Oscars. Here are some of the main winners.

Best Picture: “No Country For Old Men”
Best Director: Joel and Ethan Cohen (“No Country for old Men”)
Best Actor in a Leading Role: Daniel Day Lewis (There will be Blood)
Best Actress in a Leading Role: Marion Cotillard (“La Vie En Rose”)
Best Supporting Actor: Javier Barden (“No Country for Old Men”)
Best Supporting Actress: Tilda Swinton (“Michael Clayton”)
Best Original Screenplay: Diablo Cody (“Juno”)
Best Adapted Screenplay: Joel and Ethan Cohen (“No Country for Old Men”) Best Documentary Feature: “Taxi to the Dark Side”

MY TAKE:
“There will be Blood” should have won best picture and Best Director. However, Joel and Ethan Cohen have done a multitude of great films over the years “Fargo”, “Blood Simple”, “The Big Lebowski” are all such works that spring to mind) so just think of this as an Oscar for not only “No Country for Old Men” but also their entire often off-beat, yet illustrious body of work.

But hey at least Daniel Day Lewis received the Best Actor Oscar (which was very well deserved).
