U.S Secratary of Defense Urges a Withdrawl from Iraq……….

In Commentary, Foreign Affairs, Iraq War, politics on February 29, 2008 by Editor Z

Well not a withdrawal of U.S forces from Iraq, but for Turkey to cease its military actions in Northern Iraq against Kurdish rebels. I just think its weird and refreshing for a Bush administration official to call for the withdrawal of Military forces from Iraq. Now if only they viewed getting our soldiers out of Iraq as rapidly as they seek the Turks to remove theirs.

ABC News:

“Its very important that the Turks make this operation as short as possible and then leave,” Gates said late Wednesday from India before heading to Turkey. “They have to be mindful of Iraqi sovereignty. I measure quick in terms of days, a week or two, something like that not months.”

Yeah unilaterally invading Iraq, with promises of a quick military intervention on the grounds of a threat on the horizon,…. that is so our material as America. Invade some other country.

I mean look the Turks are even ripping us off on the Bush/Cheney refusal to have a timeline and extract military forces. Can’t they come up with something ORIGINAL!

“Our objective is clear. Our mission is clear and there is no timetable… until the terrorists bases are eliminated,” he said [Turkish foreign Minister Hoshyor Zebari] shortly after arriving in the capital at the helm of a delegation to discuss the military action.

So its Iraq for me and not for thee!

Maybe we should think about heeding the wisdom of that same advice that we give the Turks.

Digg!
