Family Research Council is at it again

In stupidity, Video on March 21, 2008 by Editor Z

A member of the heavily socially conservative Family Research Council has suggested that all Gays should be deported from the U.S. Now I am not gay, however this statement is just so ignorant and so unfair that it deserves condemnation. The commentor is question is Peter Sprigg, a high ranking policy advisor at the socially conservative organization is also supposedly a Baptist Minister too.

Miami Herald:

” I would prefer to export homosexuals from the United States than to import them into the United States than to import them to import them into the United States because we believe homosexuality is destructive to society.”

He made the comment in regards to the Uniting Families Act (UAFA). Something one would think that an organization that deemed itself the Family research Council would support. But since the families in question consist of gays, it is a piece of legislation that if passed could very well usher in the apocalypse. You know fire in the sky, ground opens up, blah blah blah.

Anyway, if someone is immigrating to America they often have someone act as a sponsor. Usually that someone will be a relative, friend, or lover. A heterosexual lover that is. But UAFA seeks to permit homosexual couples who have one member of the relationship already a citizen of the U.S be the sponsor to their respective mate. In other words make these couples in the eyes of immigration laws equal to heterosexual couples.

MY TAKE: Yeah that sounds exactly like what Jesus would do doesn’t it? In the bible and the God I know about, loving thy neighbor, loving thy brother, feeding the poor, are values that are expressed. But gay bashing doesn’t seem to be in the 10 commandments.

Maybe it is one of the original thirteen commandments in the Mel Brooks movie History of the World Part I.

Anyway Sprigg sounds like he needs to be ripped a new one by fictional West Wing President Josiah Bartlett.
