Bush: The Only Thing We Have to Fear is Not Being Afraid

In 2008 Presidential Elections, Bush/Cheney Administration, Foreign Affairs, jerks, politics on May 15, 2008 by Editor Z

The Golfer-n-Chief compares Obama and those who are against attacking Iran to Nazi appetizers.

Never underestimate the Bush/Cheney administration’s ability to sink even lower. Today in Israel, in commemoration of Israel’s 60th birthday as an internationally recognized nation, Bush (who announced yesterday that he supposedly so gallantly sacrificed his pass time of playing golf to “honor” veterans) injected politics in a cruel and callous way. Its shouldn’t be surprising but it shows just how much Bush thinks all the events in the world are raw material for him to mold to his political liking.

This was a day to celebrate the birth of a great nation that is supposed to serve as a homeland for the Jewish people of the world, and instead of merely honoring Israel and celebrating that non-partisan event in a tasteful fashion during his address before the Israeli Knesset, Bush used it to ratchet up fears about Iran and compare amongst others Democratic Presidential contender U.S Senator Barack Obama (D-Illinois).

MSNBC:

In a speech to Israel’s Knesset Bush said: “Some seem to believe that we should negotiate with the terrorists and radicals, as if some ingenious argument will persuade them they have been wrong all along.

” We have heard this foolish delusion before. As Nazi tanks crossed Poland in 1939, an American Senator declared: ” Lord if I could only have talked with Hitler, all this might have been avoided ‘We have an obligation to call this what it is– the false comfort of appeasement which has been repeatedly discredited by history.”

The Bush administration denies that such comments were directed towards Senator Obama.

MY TAKE: Repeatedly discredited? Now that is something that President(s) Bush and Cheney, who have brought the stinking corpse of political McCarthyism back from its death know very well. But I shouldn’t slam them too much. After all as Laura Bush said sometime ago it is she and the President who have made the greatest sacrifices in his war that other people just happen to be dying in. It is he who sacrificed golf, to show his appreciation with the family’s ( It is now revealed that Bush even lied to America about that sacrifice).

Bush is trying to paint himself as a Winston Churchill. The lone figure who is spearheading the struggle against tyranny and forces that are enslaving the entire free world. But indeed if in World War II, if such a corrupt fear generating neoconservative buffoon such as he were in charge we would have lost.

Nobody has talked about surrendering to AL-Queda or surrendering in the War on terror,. Not here in the ‘reality based community’. This pathetic excuse for a world leader goes before the Israeli Knesset and accuses not only Barack Obama and the Democrats, but Republicans such as Senator Chuck Hagel, his own Secretary of Defense, much of world opinion, most Americans express, and the findings of recent reports that state that Iran froze its nuclear weapons program years ago. But goes before the Israeli legislative body, many members who most likely were survivors of or lost someone in the Holocaust to generate fear and marshal support for another badly planned unjustified pre-emptive war built on a foundation of lies.

That is simply the lowest of the low. Shame on you Bush, shame!
