Marylin Monroe and Clark Gable from the Grave

In Films/Film stars, History, shopping on June 2, 2008 by Editor Z

It has been decades since the untimely deaths of screen icons Clark Gable and Marylin Monroe, but rare behind the scenes coverage of both has come to light and is set to be auctioned off later this month.

The footage is said to have been shot by a man who appeared as an extra in the 1960 film The Misfits. The film would be the final movie that Monroe and Gable would ever make. Gable died just two months after this new film footage was shot, of a heart attack. Monroe would die two years later of a drug overdose.

The film is said to be valued at about ten to twenty thousand dollars, but that is not taking into account the copy right to the footage which the buyer will also recieve along with the film reels.
