A day after President elect Barack Obama formally announced his nominee for the Position of education Secretary, the latest news circulating in the cabinet completion is that former Governor Tom Vilsack (D-IA)will be Obama’s choice for Secretary of Agriculture.
This is a very safe and expected pick. he is a popular former Midwestern Governor who briefly sought the 2008 Democratic Presidential Nomination himself. In terms of Cabinet Secretary positions, Secretaries of Labor and Transportation are the only cabinet secretaries left, although there are other positions available such as FBI Director, CIA Director, etc.
