It is being reported that outgoing U.S Congressman Ray Lahood (R-IL 18) will be President elect Obama’s nominee for Secretary of Transportation.

Also on the Cabinet front it is news from Taegan Goodard on the Political Wire that the Obama transition team is approaching a decision for Labor Secretary, the last cabinet secretary position. Supposedly the two candidates for the post are University of California, Berkley Professor Harley Shaiken and U.S Rep. Rosa DeLauro (D-CT,3) are the two finalists.

Tomorrow the President Elect will also announce Mary Schapiro as his selection for the position of Securities and Exchange Commission Chair.
