Editor’s Note: My New Piece in the Advocate and an Internship for the Spring

In Editor's Notes, Journalism, local news, personal, search for personal satisfaction on January 7, 2009 by Editor Z

This Winter break for about two to three weeks, as I had done over the Summer I have the pleasure of interning at the laid back but always fun Valley Advocate offices, a publication in Western mass that focuses on local entertainment and the arts. I perform such tasks as entering some of the listings into the computer data base and writing brief captions and paragraphs around a few pictures such as this one for the play “Lumber Jacks in Love”. So comment on the article here on boxothoughts or go to the advocate website where it is posted.

In other personal related news I have also gained an internship for the Spring with the Town Reminder in South Hadley, a newspaper that covers local affairs and civics. I may also be able to do some work for the Holyoke Sun, also a paper in the area, that like the Town Reminder is a small community paper owned by Turley Publications. Wish me luck!
